A short but challenging fell circuit with big views and a steep decent to finish. This route begins near Thirlmere and climbs gradually around the back of the fell, passing through woodland and open fellside near The Benn before curving up to the summit of Raven Crag. From the rocky top, you'll get superb views over Thirlmere and the central fells. The descent is much steeper and more direct, dropping quickly through rough, forested ground. Though short in distance, the gradient and terrain make this a tougher outing than it first appears , especially on the way down.
